We are currently planning our trip to Bali
for December 2007.
In preliminary planning - we are considering
staying in Ubud and cultural areas
since we are based in San Juan, Puerto Rico and have plenty of beach,
bars and drag queens here...
although a sampling of Kuta's gay nightlife would be nice as well...

We have requested a tour itinerary from an
online gay travel agency in Bali that let us see as much of the island
as possible in a 4-night/5-day stay and focus on Culture and
Tradition.
An agent got back to us the next
business day with the following itinerary:
Day 01, Dec 18, 2007 : Meet and greets at the Airport drop to Tony's Villa
Day 02, Dec 19, 2007 : Pick up at 08.00 am to take full day amazing west
Bali Tours, inlcudes lunch end up at Tanah Lot temple for amazing sunset
( if the weather permitted ), followed by dinnner at Jimbaran Bay meals and
beverage on personal account
Day 03, Dec 20, 2007 : Pick up at 08.30 am for full day Art and Cultures
Tours visits Ubud and surrounding lunch inclusive then check in at
Tjampuhan Hotel, Ubud and free at leisure
Day 04, Dec 21, 2007 : Pick up 09.00 am for amazing East Bali Tours, lunch
inclusive drop to the hotel and free at leisure
Day 05, Dec 22, 2007 : Pick up at 11 am to catch a flight to KL
I sent back a note with some questions about price, category of hotel rooms
and payment type/dates - but in general, the itinerary is much better than I could
put together on my own and the price was better than I expected.
I'll update when I get the final price and details...
This is a good example of how a local travel agent in the destination can be
a great way to plan your vacation.
