Bolongo Bay Beach Resort - 'Club Everything'

Bolongo Bay Beach Club is a fun friendly beach resort on St Thomas on the caribbean sea, US Virgin Islands, all inclusive, semi inclusive, condos, apartments

Bolongo Bay Resort is one of my favorite resorts in the Caribbean. Its not a 'gay resort' by any means - but definitely 'gay friendly'. There is a mix of all kinds of guests - all ages, sexes, interests and persuasions... Don't be surprised to find a wedding party having their reception in The Beach House, a bunch of college kids playing volleyball in front of Iggie's Beach Bar, Seniors chatting under the palm trees, Divers comparing the days' underwater discoveries at the bar and families splashing along the shore.... Everyone is friendly to everyone - and the whole atmosphere is laid back and comfortable.

Rooms are not luxe - but very comfortable in the Best Western-plus type of accommodations. Very laid back and relaxing with a very friendly staff. The Beach is great with lots of lounge chairs and something is always going on at Iggie's Beach Bar - which is always mentioned as one of the best bars in the Caribbean. Its also a big local hang-out, so you get a good mix of locals and guests.

Last time I was there - a guy who had been booked at the nearby Ritz Carlton because of a special rate - was complaining that the food in the Ritz Carlton restaurants was so expensive that it was cheaper for him to rent a car and come over to Iggie's for all his meals... (and vowed to stay at Bolongo the next time). Iggie's always has something going on - but is far enough from the rooms so you won't be bothered by noise. Try the Thursday night 'all you can eat ribs' or just grab a burger and watch the scene!

St. Thomas in general is not a gay destination - no bars, clubs, etc. - so if you're looking for action, this isn't for you. But for an easy Caribbean Vacation that's just a short flight from the east coast of the USA - give Bolongo Bay Beach Resort a try! Most gay clients seem to be couples looking to relax and gay-parented families looking for a great vacation. By the way, the all-inclusive option is one of the best in the Caribbean - so check it out and maybe I'll see you on the beach!
